The Task Force on Confidentiality and the Courts is considering the issues
raised by requests for confidentiality in the context of civil litigation. Our
charge is to evaluate such competing interests such as privacy concerns of
parties and non-litigants, facilitation of settlements, the public interest in
seeing how justice is done, and the benefits of open resolution of disputes.
The Task Force will seek to work with the Judicial Branch and seek input from
interested parties, and is charged with submitting a report to the President of
the Connecticut Bar Association and the House of Delegates on or before its
January 2005 meeting.
